School Contributions & Book Packs

School Contributions & Book Packs

Each year the Finance Sub-Committee of the School Council deliberates for some time over the
financing of the school and its educational programs. The Government provides basic funding
direct to the school, and the community is asked to complement this funding, in support of the
provision of a higher quality program at a voluntary level.

Book Packs and Student Contributions Information is distributed to all parents towards the end of
each year. The associated costs include each student’s personal books and requisites, supplies for
general classroom use, incidental classroom materials, basic duplicating and printing costs, paper,
art and craft supplies and a portion of the costs toward stocking the Library and the areas of Art,
Physical Education and Music Education. Selected Apps for the iPad are also included in this cost.
Schools provide students with free instruction to fulfil the standard Victorian curriculum and we want
to assure you that all contributions are voluntary. Nevertheless, the ongoing support of our families
ensures that our school can offer the best possible education and support for our students.

All parent payments and financial contributions support the effective functioning and objectives of the
school including the enhancement of student learning, aspirations and wellbeing, promote access, equity and inclusion for all students and are affordable and proportionate to the needs of the school.

Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF)

Every Victorian child should have access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund ensures that no student misses out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities. School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors, excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works and sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are part of a healthy curriculum.

CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. The allowance will be paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions, or sporting activities for the benefit of your child. The annual CSEF amount per student will be: • $125 for primary school students • $225 for secondary school students.

Contact the school office to obtain a CSEF application form or download from www.education.vic.gov.au

You should lodge a CSEF application form at the school by 25th February. For more information about the CSEF visit www.education.vic.gov.au/csef
