Parent Payment Arrangements

Parent Payment Arrangements

Kingsley Park Primary School is looking forward to another great year of teaching and learning and would like to advise you of the voluntary financial contributions.

Schools provide students with free instruction to fulfil the standard Victorian curriculum and we want to assure you that all contributions are voluntary. Nevertheless, the ongoing support of our families ensures that our school can offer the best possible education and support for our students.

We want to thank you for all your support, whether that’s through fundraising or volunteering your time. This has made a huge difference to our school and the programs we can offer.

The environment and resources that we enjoy today represent the contributions made by our Parent / Guardian community over many years.  Parent / Guardian voluntary contributions have made significant difference to the quality of our programs on offer each year, some years are better than others due to this.  This financial support ensures that we can continue to provide the excellent range of facilities and resources for your children.  Your support will continue to allow us to:

  • Provide high quality programs and specific subject materials and equipment for: English, Mathematics, STEM, Art, Performing Arts, Inquiry Units, Auslan and PE
  • Maintain and develop the school grounds and playgrounds
  • Ensure the upkeep of our computer devices to enhance learning opportunities
  • Maintain sufficient class sets of books for students to develop student reading skills
  • Provide hands on maths equipment i.e.: materials for teaching purposes
  • Facilitate Literacy and Mathematics online digital subscriptions to support learning
  • Deliver a range of sporting equipment and lunchtime activities
  • Arrange for individual student supplies and class bulk supplies
  • Offer effective First Aid for all students.

Please find attached Kingsley Park Primary School’s voluntary financial Curriculum and Other Contributions lists, which includes an overview of what your contributions will help us provide.

Each year the Finance Sub-Committee of the School Council deliberates for some time over the financing of the school and its educational programs. The Government provides basic funding  direct to the school, and the community is asked to complement this funding, in support of the provision of a higher quality program.

A booklist is distributed to all parents towards the end of each year. The associated costs include each student’s personal books and requisites, supplies for general classroom use, incidental  classroom materials, basic duplicating and printing costs, paper, art and craft supplies, class texts, book folders and a portion of the costs toward stocking the Library and the areas of Art, Physical Education, Music and Computer Education.

A contribution is requested from parents in order to meet our budget requirements. Together with fundraising efforts, this contribution ensures that equipment and educational aides are provided and upgraded to meet the needs of your children.

Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF)

Every Victorian child should have access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund ensures that no student misses out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities. School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors, excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works and sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are part of a healthy curriculum.

CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. The allowance will be paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions, or sporting activities for the benefit of your child. The annual CSEF amount per student will be: • $125 for primary school students • $225 for secondary school students.

Contact the school office to obtain a CSEF application form or download from www.education.vic.gov.au

You should lodge a CSEF application form at the school by 25th February. For more information about the CSEF visit www.education.vic.gov.au/csef
