Homework

The School Community recognises homework as an important aspect of life for students at Kingsley Park Primary School. Homework is able to reinforce the natural link between school and home and reinforce content taught at school.

Homework is seen as a part of each child’s educational development. It is used to :

(1) consolidate known work and revise past work.

(2) enrich current work.
(3) enhance the future educational development of the child in providing a sound basis for work habits in home study.

In Years 3 - 6 homework is given on a regular basis - the children should have an expectation that there will be homework most weeks of the year. In Prep - Year 2 the expectation is that children read every night and practise their sight words and spelling words.
