Resources and Supports for Families Experiencing Hardship

 

The following places are able to offer support for families impacted by the COVID-19 measures currently being put into place.  The following list of services and links is not exhaustive, but may be useful for you to start finding support at this time.

Finances

Free financial counselling is available through Better Place Australia - 1800 639 523.  They have an office in Frankston.

Everyday Help

Frankston Community Support 9783 7284 - they are able to provide you with vouchers and also have links to other supports on their website.      https://frankston.net/

Talk with a Centrelink Social Worker to explain your situation and they will be able to guide you as to what additional supports and loans etc.. that may be available to you.

Mums Supporting Families in Need are a locally based charity who can assist families in need.

Mental Health

Without a doubt, many of us are experiencing additional mental stress from the current situation.  Lifeline has an excellent outline of some simple strategies to put into place for you and your family during this time.

Medicare has now approved telehealth consultations for psychology sessions should you need to seek a Mental Health Care Plan for more intensive support from a professional.
