School Tour - Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
This school is indeed lucky to have so many computers, both in the classrooms and as a bank in the Resource Centre. Years 5 & 6 children have the added advantage of a mini computer suite in their classroom plus interactive whiteboardtechnology. All are linked to a school wide network. There is a great selection of interactive and instructional software, and the huge advantage of a back-up technician to fix staff, student and network problems which occasionally crop up.
Each child has their own space on the school server, to save their own work, so they can work on it both in the library and in their classroom. Each member of staff and each student has their own email address and is able to send and receive messages. Skilled staff are on hand to ensure learning continues at a continuous pace, and is enjoyable and a sound basis for later life.
ICT is seen as an integral tool for learning and it is essential that we all become proficient users.
